RayFire Tool 1.5

Postby Mir Vadim on Wed Feb 03, 2010 8:37 pm

Before install RayFire Tool 1.5 please read this carefully.

RayFire Tool 1.5 supports new Nvidia PhysX plugin 2.0 for 3ds Max but doesn't provide it. To use PhysX support via RayFire You need to get it and install manually from Nvidia developers zone since Nvidia doesn't allow any kind of distribution of their plugin.

Here You can get PhysX plugin 2.0
http://developer.nvidia.com/forums/index.php?s=566469e17f33bdee788d55baf569fb1a&showtopic=3990&st=0&start=0.
If you will have problems with getting new PhysX plugin, please email me and I will try to help you.

New PhysX plugin supports only Max 2008, Max 2009 and Max 2010.
Older RayFire Tool 1.46 contains all PhysX engine files inside it's installer, but it supports older Nvidia PhysX plugin version which doesn't support 64 bit 3ds Max.

I had to open an account with Nvidia to get PhysX. I told them that I was going to use it with Rayfire. Was that the wrong thing to say? They haven't yet advised me that they opened an account.

Sorry, but I didn't understand your question, it is better to write about your problem in Help thread with screenshots.

Hi Mir.

I did my best to follow the instructions for downloading Physx for max. I went to link, then linked to the developer site, where I have an account.

However on the support/downloads section, I only see these files:
PhysX_8.09.04_SystemSoftware.exe
PhysX_10.01.29_9.10.0129_SystemSoftware

Am I missing something?

Also I have a new drive/OS (Windows 7), so I don't have old version :(.

I also need to run on Max 2011, so do I need the older version of Physx? Sorry if I am confused.

Thnx

I found that there is a left hand navigation pane that I was missing (you've got to open it it to see max plug-in):

Support Downloads
- Downloads
-PhysX SDK 2.8.3
-Plug-ins
-Max 2.01
+PhysX Testing Guide
+Tools

This page was helpful for instructions on getting plug-in:
http://developer.nvidia.com/object/phys ... ugins.html

Sure wish it worked with 2011!
